Luella Bartley's Autumn Winter 2008-2009 collection is to be sold in the High Street Store Urban Outfitters starting this month. Urban Outfitters also have an online store, but I couldn't find any evidence of anything Luella there when I looked. Of course, Luella sells clothes aswell as bags, and it is said that her clothes were "inspired by witchcraft with a hint of the Swedish hilltops". Well, well, there you do then. Clothes schmothes. We want bags!!!

Luella Bartley has opened a new store in Hong Kong, in a posh new shopping centre there called "Elements". Her designs have become popular in Hong Kong. Luella herself says "It's a really big step for us to open in Hong Kong". This is because Luella is still an independently owned brand, yet she is competing head to head against other large corporations and publicly owned companies. This could also be a good move for other British designers, as Luella's move into Hong Kong will raise the profile of British design in general.

The new Luella Bartley store on Brook Street has been burgled by a gang in London. It had only been opened a week. They used a sledge hammer to break into the new store and stole thousands of pounds worth of handbags from her latest range. They escaped on motorbikes and mopeds.
The same thieves raided the designer shop Bora on the same evening. Thieves have also raided the designer shops Anya Hindmarch and Marc Jacobs. It seems that highly priced designer items are as precious as jewellery these days!
